The Line 6 Pocket Pod is a guitar amp emulator meant to allow users to try out different amp sounds through headphones at home. I identified a design opportunity when using the Pocket Pod, since I found the controls and general user interface confusing and counterintuitive to use. I conducted a user survey of fellow Pocket Pod users and found that other people had similar experiences to mine– taking issue with the device’s battery life, controls, and settings.

I took the opportunity to conceptualize a new product based on the Pocket Pod– the Pocket Pedal. This new device has many of the same features as the Pod, but can be used as a pedal (hands-free).

I also created a new logo meant to resemble the back pocket on a pair of jeans.

The Pocket Pedal is Bluetooth-operated and connects to an accompanying app, where users can create and upload custom sounds, create their own sound libraries, and share sounds with other users.
